Carl Gustav Jung, one of the founders of modern psychiatry, a student, once colleague of Sigmund Freud, broke with him over staying within the bounds of accepted scientific tolerance of the time. This involved accepting Freud's interpretations of psychosis as gospel or moving into areas and thought Jung found fertile. This Freud considered taboo because they would discredit the new "Science" of Psychiatry.
